I am an experienced licensed professional counselor (LPC) since 1989. My approach is one of collaboration and interaction, based on my belief that each person is a unique individual with their own inner resources and strengths. I work as a caring and understanding guide who believes in the therapeutic relationship of confidentiality, trust and shared respect.

I enjoy developing creative approaches in working with each person to facilitate access to growth and healing. Offering deep compassion, along with laughter and hope, are parts of the therapeutic relationship that I honor. I will work with you to better access your own inner assets. Together we will search for avenues to alleviate your problems, with the intention of creating more balance and harmony in your life.

My general practice is one of openness (sensitive to cultural and religious diversity and sexual orientation). I primarily work with young (older teens on), middle and older adults. Specific to loss and grief issues, I also see children age six and older.

My theoretical base is grounded in attachment and loss theory and my approach is client centered and strength-based. I have continued to broaden my understanding of psychology over the years, thus melding knowledge from a variety of approaches including cognitive, behavioral, couples counseling, EMDR, existential and spiritual.

My BA degree is in Anthropology from UWM, and my Masters degree is in Counseling Psychology from Vermont College. My work in Madison began as a bereavement counselor, and has since expanded to many additional focus areas.
